Trash & Litter Clean-Ups
Clean ups are going to be held on the AOAA property on 3/29/2014 and 4/12/2014 in conjunction with the state and national events scheduled for those respective days. The clean ups will take place in the morning starting at 9 am until noon, lunch from noon – 1, and riding in the afternoon for clean up participants.

Contact the AOAA to make donations, volunteer services, or participate.

Northumberland County's Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) is currently closing out the Phase I construction phase with an expected completion date of early 2014. The proposed facility covers multiple municipalities located in southern Northumberland County. (Coal Township, Zerbe Township, Mount Carmel Township, East Cameron Township, West Cameron Township, and City of Shamokin)

A five member authority has been appointed to manage the AOAA. At this time property usage is by pre-approval only. You can submit a request to the authority by completing a property use request form and submitting it to the authority for consideration via e-mail or fax. Regular use passes are available via membership in Anthracite Trail Riders. Authority meetings are held monthly, dates of which can be found on our calendar page. Events are being scheduled for 2014 and they can be found on the calendar page as well. Expected Grand Opening date is 5-17-2014

Currently, Northumberland County has adopted policies & ordinances, in addition to an Authority to govern the AOAA.

AOAA Authority Meetings

The Northumberland County AOAA Authority holds its public meetings and work sessions every month at the Trailhead Building. (4100 State Route 125, Coal Township, PA 17866) Work sessions are held in the first half of the month on Monday evenings at 6:30pm.
