Welcome

The Northumberland County Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) is a 6,500 acre motorized and non-motorized recreation facility with its welcome center and parking lot located at 4100 State Route 125, Coal Township, PA 17866-7806. Phone number for the Welcome Center is 570-648-2626.

The AOAA is NOW OPEN for motorized vehicles of all types (ATVs, UTVs, SxS, Dirt Bikes, and Full Size Vehicles). The 3,000 acre Eastern Reserve is available for open riding, with mapped(link) and signed intersections. The 3,500 acre Western Reserve is open for pre-arranged, guided tours (call the AOAA prior to your group’s arrival to set up a tour).

The AOAA will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The AOAA will also be open on holidays as follows: Monday, May 26; Friday, July 4; and Monday, September 1st. For pass pricing, see the Adopted Rate Plan.

The AOAA Authority would like to thank each and everyone who were involved over the last five years in bringing an idea of a motorized and non-motorized recreation facility to fruition. We would like to especially thank the Northumberland County Commissioners, current and recent past, for all their continued support and for recognizing the need for a facility of this type in our area.
